First, the standard Irish limerick......
If whiskey were water and I was a duck
I'd swim to the bottom and never come up
But whiskey's not water and I'm not a duck
So pass me a bottle and shut the f**k up!
And finally, on a more serious note....an Irish blessing I remember seeing as a teenager:
May those who love us, love us.
And those who hate us, may God turn their hearts.
And if He cannot turn their hearts, then may He turn their ankles
So we will know them by their limp!
